What we write

Six services. One standard.

Each service is scoped, agreed and delivered in writing. No scope creep. No surprises.

"
Sovereign Copy gave us a launch sequence that held together from first tease to cart open. The sequence made sense as a whole, not just as individual emails.

Pedro Almeida

CMO, Meridian Capital, Lisboa

"
Our proposals were good but they were not winning. The rewrites changed the framing entirely. Win rate roughly doubled in the first quarter after.

Sofia Carvalho

Co-fundadora, Atelier Fonteira, Porto

"
Content strategy felt vague before this engagement. What we got was specific enough to actually execute, with clear reasoning behind every format and channel choice.

About the studio

Writing for businesses with something specific to say.

Sovereign Copywriter opened in Carnaxide in 2020. The studio sits in the Oeiras tech corridor that runs between Belem and the Tagus north bank, which is where most of our clients are building their businesses.

We write for companies that have a specific commercial objective and need words to support it. Not content in the broadcast sense, but copy written for the person reading it and the action they are being asked to take.

Every project starts with a brief, is scoped in writing, and ends with files in the agreed format. European Portuguese and English are both native outputs. All services are delivered digitally.

How we work

The process.

Five steps. The same sequence on every project.

01

Brief

You share the brief. We close the gaps in it. A well-scoped brief is the single biggest driver of a smooth project, so we spend the time here even when the client thinks they already know exactly what they need.

02

Audit

Market, audience and competitive language research. We read what the audience says when they are not being sold to and what competitors claim that may or may not be credible. This informs the angle.

03

Angle

We agree on the copy angle in writing before anything is drafted. The angle is the one thing the copy is trying to do. Agreeing on it first eliminates most revision rounds and scope disputes.

04

Draft

First complete draft with a strategic note attached explaining the key decisions: why this headline, why this structure, why this word choice. You should understand the reasoning, not just receive the output.

05

Deliver

Revised final files in the format specified at brief, ready to use. For longer projects, a terminology note documents key language decisions for future consistency. The copy is yours from payment.

FAQ

Questions.

Common questions. If yours is not here, use the contact form.

Foundation package: 5 business days from confirmed brief. Command package: 10 business days. Sovereign package: milestone schedule agreed in writing, typically 4-6 weeks. Rush 5-Day Delivery is available as a paid add-on for eligible scopes. All timelines begin when we confirm the brief in writing, not from payment date.
Yes. European Portuguese is available as a native output, not a translation. For bilingual projects, each language version is written independently for its target audience. The Portuguese (PT) version add-on covers a complete separate rewrite in European Portuguese, not a literal translation of the English.
Foundation covers one homepage or landing page and is built for fast turnaround on a defined scope. Command covers the full website up to 7 pages, adds a 6-email welcome sequence, a brand voice guide and a 60-minute strategy session. Command is the right choice when you need the whole digital presence addressed, not just one page.
One revision round in Foundation. Two revision rounds in Command and Sovereign. A revision round means one set of consolidated comments addressed against the original brief. Additional revision rounds beyond what is included can be purchased as the Extra Revision Round add-on. The most reliable way to reduce revisions is a clear written brief agreed before work starts.
Scope extensions are handled with a simple written addendum. We agree the additional work, price it against our day rate, and add it to the project. We do not start scope extension work without agreement in writing. Clients who brief well rarely need extensions; clients who change their minds mid-project sometimes do.
Yes. Send them with the brief. If the guidelines contain voice and tone direction, we follow them. If they do not, we document our language decisions in a voice note that can be incorporated into the guidelines after the project. Most guidelines cover visual identity well and verbal identity poorly; we can address the gap.
Standard delivery is DOCX with content structured per page and section for clean CMS integration. PDF, Google Docs format and plain text are available on request. HTML delivery is included for web copy. Email copy is formatted for your email platform on request. All file formats are confirmed at brief stage.
B2B and B2C copy differ in one key way: B2B has multiple decision-makers, a longer consideration window and higher stakes for being wrong. B2C copy is usually trying to reduce friction at a single point. Both require specific audience language and clear outcome framing, but the risk management and proof requirements are different. We adjust the approach at the angle stage.
